I Believed
I believed everything I heard
Sucked in from the very first word
Wheelin and dealin
But really jackin and stealin
Tippin and dippin
Every day gettin sloppy and slippin
Should have known you was lying
When all my cash started flying
Sitting in the dark with no heat
Tellin our kids it was a game, a summer's treat
I shoulda just got my junk and ran
But like every weak woman, I can fix this man
I coulda made it out there on my own
I'm smart, got skills, and my back is strong
I let this happen to me and that's too bad
But if I make this mistake again, baby that's just sad
Don't Count Me Out
Don't Count Me Out
Please don't think that it's over for me
I'm not the victim, but the victor you'll see
You may think it odd to still lift my head
But I know the Lord and I am not afraid
I am one who has destiny in mind
Inside me is wealth, a treasure yet to find
It is not the piece that you may suppose
It is the purpose encapsulated inside the clothes
This path cannot change who I am called to be
It can only change what I let you see
My mouth is yet filled with the words of prayer
Not for my soul, but for the lost everywhere
Be not deceived, I've made my peace
It was my decision, now I'm released
